Cultural Encounters: Meet and Meat

Hello. Bonjour. Namaste. Salam.

Stories are magical and are the best way to understand the awesomeness amongst culture! My goal is collect over 1000culturalencounters as there are so many great stories out there! If you would like submit your story click here! Submit YOUR STORY!  Before the stories begin, I would like to thank an awesome dude, Kurt Archer, for this awesome idea and his wonderful support towards my vision of a creating a world where we celebrate our differences.

Several years ago I visited my parents in law at the time. They were living in Wales (UK) and am Dutch.
In the UK people like their meat well cooked, whereas in Holland we prefer tender meats like steak, to be not quite so well cooked.  When dinner time was about to arrive my mother in law went into the kitchen asking my husband to prepare my steak for me and she said “I know she likes her meat quite bloody”… Instantaneously I felt like some sort of cannibal eating raw meat only.
