First thing , I said when I saw this was, “This is sooooo cool.”  It felt like the “SO” part of this sentence seemed to go on on forever. This was definitely a love a first site kind of situation.

So what can happen when you ask people all over the world to chronicle a single day in their lives? You get 80,000 submissions, 4500 hours of footage, from 192 countries. Director Kevin Macdonald has taken this raw material, all shot on July 24, 2010, and created a 90-minute movie about to what it means to be human in the world today (Source: IMDB)

Life In A Day is a documentary style film that will show future generations what it was like to be alive  on July 24, 2010.   So basically, people from all over the world took videos of their lives on the same day, uploaded them on Youtube and an awesome director put all the footage together to make a movie. Simple but great right? Genius.

Check out the trailer for this movie:

Simply Bootifull. Just Lovely.

This movie is so unique because it tells the story of people living their lives all over the world. It really shows our humanity: how cultures make us different but also the same. It really allowed me to travel to every corner of the world in 90 minutes. Free way to travel right? It was also extremely beautiful and allowed me to see things I’ve never seen before.

One of the nicest moments of the movie was from an Australian man recovering from a recent heart operation. He spoke about the importance of appreciating life. Check it out.

As a friend of mine described it, “This is some real tear jerker, heart wrenching stuff.” Best way to describe this movie.  Get ready to have your breath taken away.

You can watch this movie for free.  As I learnt in my first year of college, “Free stuff is good stuff” and this is definitely not an exception to that rule.

Let the magic begin.  See the world in 90 minutes
