I strongly believe that dancing just makes life better no matter where you are.

So when I heard about Cebu, I was amazed.  So here’s the story.  Cebu, Philippines has prison where inmates perform dance routines as a part of their exercise and rehabilitation. This particular prison, Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center  (CPDRC) is a maximum security facility.

In April 2007, the CPRDC’s rendition of Michael’s Jackson Thriller went viral. I clearly missed the boat and didn’t see the video! But I saw it now and I love it!

After watching the magic, I was not at all surprised  to see that this video went super viral with over 50 million views. This video features 1,500 male inmates putting a unique spin on  Michael Jackson’s dance moves from the original ‘Thriller’ video.

The inmates at Cebu prison came back to recreate the dancing magic with recreating Korea’s rap star’s PSY’s “Gangnam Style” video.  And let me tell you now..its brilliant!

It’s pretty amazing what dancing can do. Its crosses cultures, language, boundaries, space and time to bring us together. Never miss a chance to dance!
