The Reason Why Some Africans Are Late

Stereotypes are out there.

Here’s one:  Black people are usually late.

There are a variety of acronyms have been created to address “Black Time.” Black Standard Time (BST), Colored People Time (CPT), African Standard Time (AST), African Time (AT)…and the list goes on.

Regardless of your opinion, the video below is a prime example of how stereotypes can be hilarious. This awesome video has taken the idea of “Black Time” and turned it into something for all to enjoy.

Personally, I don’t believe that its fair to generalize an entire race. At the same time, we must be conscious of the impact that stereotypes have on our perceptions of others.  I think that many stereotypes in jokes are used  to make us laugh and not necessarily meant to hurt others.

If you liked what you saw check out Clifford Owusu’s Youtube Channel.  Lots of funny stuff on this channel!

By the  way, its totally cool if you have this video on repeat. I have watched this video more times than I care to count. When its time to cook, my kitchen turns into a club. Sometimes you just have to feel the beat!

For those of you that were feeling the track used in this song, here it is. It is from the AMAZING Nigerian artist, Iyanya.
